What would you think if someone said you could buy a hybrid version of a compact SUV that could give you notably improved performance and better fuel economy? If you want to use less gas as you drive around Martinsville, Stanleytown, Danville, Rocky Mount, and Greensboro, but you also want better performance, look no further than the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid is now the highest-specification, best-performing, and probably most desirable Honda CR-V yet.
The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid’s exterior styling doesn’t shout to the world about its enhanced green or performance credentials compared to non-hybrid models. It’s simply a modern, stylish, and handsome compact crossover SUV from every angle. There are three versions of the 2025 Honda CR-V to choose from, however. The most affordable version is the entry-level Sport Hybrid, the mid-range offering is the Sport-L Hybrid, and the top-of-the-line variant is the Sport Touring Hybrid.
At the heart of the Honda CR-V Hybrid’s powertrain is a refined, direct-injected 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gas engine. This combines with a pair of side-by-side-mounted electric motors to deliver a combined output of 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque, which is three horsepower and 15 lb.-ft. more than the last generation of Honda CR-V Hybrid. The top speed of the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid is 115 mph. The Honda CR-V Hybrid gets an additional Sport driving mode, along with the familiar ECON, Normal, and Snow driving modes the non-hybrid models have. The power gets sent to the front or all four wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Sport and Sport-L Hybrid models are standard front-wheel-drive with AWD available, but the Sport Touring Hybrid gets standard AWD. Front-drive models get 43 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 40 mpg combined. Meanwhile, AWD models still manage an excellent 40/34/40 mpg, respectively.
There’s plenty of space inside the 20205 Honda CR-V Hybrid for the driver and up to four passengers. The cabin is spacious, well-planned, high quality, and comfortable. All three models have lovely interiors, but the Sport Touring has the extra advantage of leather upholstery. All trim levels feature standard dual-zone automatic climate control, reclining 60/40 split rear seats, heated front seats, a one-touch power moonroof, and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster screen. The Sport trim gets a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is replaced by a 9.0-inch unit in the Sport-L and Sport Touring trims. All models get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, which is only wired in the entry-level Sport trim. The Sport Touring gets the luxury treatment with a Bose premium 12-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, navigation, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Most people will think of improved fuel economy when considering a hybrid, but the 2025 Honda CR-V gives you enhanced performance to go with it.
