All four 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid grades feature the same gas/electric hybrid powertrain. The system features a 2.0-liter inline-four gas engine paired with two electric motors that sit side-by-side. The powertrain produces a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque, which gets sent to the front wheels through Honda’s Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) with Deceleration Selectors. When only light throttle is applied, the new Accord Hybrid can run longer in EV mode than its predecessor. The powertrain is wonderfully quiet, and there’s a smooth balance of power between the electric motors and the gasoline engine, which can decouple when not required.
Four different drive modes are available, including Normal, Sport, and Eco, that vary the throttle response and steering feel. The fourth mode is a new Individual setting that allows drivers to customize those inputs and change the responsiveness of the adaptive cruise control. Sport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid trim levels return EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 46 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway, and 44 mpg combined. However, the EX-L Hybrid is even better, with ratings of 51/44/48 mpg.
All 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid versions come very well-equipped straight from the factory. All models have standard automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear seat reminder. But safety features are just part of what makes the new Accord Hybrid such outstanding value for money.
Even the most affordable Sport Hybrid model features a standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a ten-way power-adjusted driver’s seat, a customizable 10.2-inch Driver Information Interface Screen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The Touring Hybrid feels really special with a Google built-in infotainment operating system, a 12-speaker premium Bose sound system, wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and a 6.0-inch head-up display.
